Visa-free travel gives you the opportunity to travel to countries without the bureaucracy of getting a visa. You wouldn’t have to plan months in advance to organise an appointment with an embassay or consulate, or spend your time gathering documents and filling out forms. You also won’t have to go through the hassle of going to an embassy to hand over your passport and wait minutes or days or weeks for approval. Luckily, Trinbagonians there are a few places we can travel to that don’t require a visa. As at September 2023, people who hold passports for Trinidad and Tobagon can travel visa free to 123 countries and territories. Here’s the listing below separated by regions and an idea of how you can travel to them.
Caribbean – There are regional airlines such as Caribbean Airlines, InterCaribbean Airways, BahamasAir, Air Caraibes & Liat that have combined coverage across the Caribbean. Most airlines fly into Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica so you’re bound to find connections to your final destination.

Africa – This continent seems far but it’s nearer than you think. If you don’t have a US visa, you can transit through the United Kingdom (British Airways), the Netherlands (KLM Airlines) or Panama via Copa Airlines and a ton of connections across South America. Check the requirements for the layovers as transit visas may be needed.

Oceania – Trinbagonians may not need a visa for the final destination but within the 2-3 days of travel and layovers to get there, you’d need to have some visas. Most layovers are US cities with some routing through Canada. However, you can get to Australia (visa needed) through Europe and transit to the other countries in Oceania.

Central America – There are flights from Port of Spain directly to Panama with Copa Airlines to connect with this region! This listing shows you that if you don’t have a visa, it does not mean you cannot travel or you’re limited to Caribbean destinations. 123 of the world’s countries are at your feet! For some of the other countries, the visa process may simply be an “on-arrival” process (like Cuba) or a simple online process. Don’t let the thought of visa requirements scare you from traveling.
